Welcome to BeaverHacks Spring 2023

Attention OSU students! Get ready for the Spring Hackathon, where you can create ANY project idea that you've been thinking (or even dreaming) of! Whether it's a mobile app, web app, browser extension, or even a Discord bot, the possibilities are endless!

Theme: Leveraging A.I. Tools!

You and your team can build ANYTHING you want. You are encouraged to use the many AI tools available to assist you in bringing your project ideas to life! So get ready and build something useful and with the help of A.I. Tools such as ChatGPT, other LLM's, GitHub Co-pilot, MidJourney, Bing etc.!

Unsure about what your team can build with everyone's skill set? No worries, just provide some background information and ask ChatGPT. Stuck on a bug or unable to move forward, just ask for some guidance. Whatever you might face during this hackathon, the many AI tools available should be able to help you!

This Spring Hackathon is your chance to shine, and with ChatGPT, you've got a mighty weapon to help you from beginning to end.

Requirements

Sign Up Requirements

  • Join the hackathon on this DevPost page.

After you click join the hackathon, please complete the to-dos on the right side of the page.

Project Requirements

  • You are in a team of up to 4 people or working solo.
  • You and your teammates are OSU students.
  • All code and/or other materials must have been written or produced within the time frame of the hacking period. But we encourage you to think of ideas and explore AI tools before the hackathon starts.
  • Your team must leverage an AI tool. This can be as simple as asking ChatGPT to help you with a bug in your code.

Submission Requirements

  • Project submissions must be made through DevPost. A guide on how to do this can be found HERE.
  • Link to a video demonstration of the project (screen recording + audio) with a max-duration of 5 minutes. We recommend uploading your video to YouTube (make sure the privacy setting is public or unlisted).
    • Feel free to use this template as a starting point for your video presentation. It's not required and no extra points will be given. We have found, however, that presentations with a solid structure do a better job communicating the project to the judges so please keep that in mind in coming up with your format.

    • In the video please explain what AI tool you used and how it helped you create your project.
  • Link to GitHub repository - the entire commit history must be present

  • Link to repl on Repl.it (only if submitting a console app)

Please contact any officers on the Discord channel or email oregonstatehackathonclub@gmail.com, if you have any questions.
